Type specimen: BMNH In. 42706a,b, In. 42707, an exoskeleton (large, partially preserved scorpion). Its type locality is Glencartholm, which is in a Visean marginal marine tuff/shale in the Glencartholm Volcanic Formation of the United Kingdom.
