Type specimen: FMNH PF8522, a partial skeleton (anterior half). Its type locality is Hansen Quarry, Quarry 6, Stark Shale, Papillion, which is in a Kasimovian marine shale in the Dennis Formation of Nebraska.

Distribution:
• Carboniferous of United States (2: Nebraska collections)
