Sister taxa: Microraptor gui, Microraptor zhaoianus
Type specimen: LVH 0026, a skeleton. Its type locality is Microraptor hanqingi type (PROXY), which is in an Aptian lacustrine shale in the Jiufotang Formation of China.
Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore
Distribution: found only at Microraptor hanqingi type (PROXY)
