Type specimen: NMV-56, a partial skull (partial skull lacking periotics). Its type locality is Kiyokawa Hidarimata Valley, which is in a Messinian marine mudstone in the Koetoi Formation of Japan.

Ecology: aquatic piscivore

Distribution: found only at Kiyokawa Hidarimata Valley
