Sister taxon: Ngapakaldia tedfordi
Type specimen: SAM P13863, a partial skeleton (Cranium with rostrum and left and right upper incisors; left P3–M1 –4 (all fractured); left and right I1; left dentary with P3–M1–4 (fractured). Skeleton includ). Its type locality is UCMP loc. V5879, which is in an Oligocene lacustrine - large claystone in the Etadunna Formation of Australia.
