Type specimen: IG-UFRGS PV 0227 P(G), a partial skull. Its type locality is Serra do Cadeado, Central Parana Railway (EFCP), which is in a Wordian/Wuchiapingian fluvial siltstone in the Rio do Rasto Formation of Brazil.
