Sister taxon: Strashila incredibilis
Type specimen: NIGP 155020, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Daohugou, Xiayingzi outcrop (NIGP collection), which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian lacustrine - large shale in the Daohugou Formation of China.
