Sister taxa: Sceloporus grammicus, Sceloporus magister, Sceloporus olivaceus, Sceloporus undulatus, Sceloporus variabilis

Type specimen: UMMP 27665, a mandible (left dentary). Its type locality is Fox Canyon, which is in a Blancan terrestrial horizon in the Rexroad Formation of Kansas.

Ecology: ground dwelling omnivore

Distribution:

• Blancan of United States (2: Kansas, Nebraska collections)

Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
