Type specimen: MNHN-SAL 1024, a partial skull (skull missing the apex of the rostrum, but preserving most of the left tooth row, and all of the posterior half of cranium, except the zygomatic arches). Its type locality is Salla, which is in a Deseadan terrestrial horizon in the Salla Formation of Bolivia.

Ecology: ground dwelling insectivore
