Type specimen: MCN-URU-2002-77, a skull (Complete skull and mandibles). Its type locality is 0.5 km North of Quebrada El Picache and 50 m East of Chiguaje fault, which is in a Miocene fluvial-deltaic claystone/sandstone in the Urumaco Formation of Venezuela.
