Sister taxa: Mekosuchus inexpectatus, Mekosuchus sanderi, Mekosuchus whitehunterensis
Type specimen: UF 162724, a maxilla (Partial left maxilla). Its type locality is Arapus archaeological site, Efate Island, which is in a Holocene terrestrial sandstone in Vanuatu.
Ecology: carnivore
Distribution: found only at Arapus archaeological site, Efate Island
