Type specimen: NHMUK R8795, a partial skeleton (Partial skull, several vertebrae and left femur). Its type locality is Point Hodoul, Aldabra Atoll, which is in a Pleistocene fissure fill limestone in the Aldabra Limestone Formation of the Seychelles.
Ecology: carnivore
Distribution: found only at Point Hodoul, Aldabra Atoll
