Type specimens:

  • Luzocephalus johanssoni: MGUH VP At.28, a partial skull (Anterior half of a partially preserved skull). Its type locality is Cape Stosch, Stensiö Plateau, Ridge IX, which is in an Induan coastal horizon in the Wordy Creek Formation of Greenland.
  • Lyrocephalus rapax: MGUH VP At.19, a partial skull (Internal cast of a partial skull lacking its right posterolateral part). Its type locality is Cape Stosch, Stensiö Plateau, Ridge IX, lower Proptychites Beds, which is in an Induan coastal horizon in the Wordy Creek Formation of Greenland.
