Type specimen: SAM 4010, a partial skull. Its type locality is Ferndale, Graaff-Reinet (Cistecephalus Assemblage Zone), which is in a Wuchiapingian terrestrial siliciclastic in South Africa.

Ecology: amphibious carnivore

Distribution: found only at Ferndale, Graaff-Reinet (Cistecephalus Assemblage Zone)
