Type specimen: AMU-CURS 44, a maxilla (fragment of right maxilla, with P4—M3 and the alveolus of the P3, part of the maxillar lateral wall and palatal roof.). Its type locality is Urumaco, which is in a Miocene terrestrial horizon in the Urumaco Formation of Venezuela.

Ecology: scansorial herbivore

Distribution: found only at Urumaco
