Sister taxa: Hypsipleura gregaria, Hypsipleura subnodosa
Type specimen: NHMW 1899/VII/98. Its type locality is Seelandalpe (Wiener Hofsmuseums coll), which is in a Julian carbonate limestone in the Cassian Formation of Italy.
Ecology: facultatively mobile epifaunal suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at Seelandalpe (Wiener Hofsmuseums coll)
