Type specimen: AMNH 17724, a mandible (fragment of the left mandibular ramus with dm4, m1 and unerupted p3-4). Its type locality is Chicoca, Huallaga River, which is in an Eocene terrestrial gypsum in Peru.

Ecology: scansorial herbivore

Distribution: found only at Chicoca, Huallaga River
