Sister taxon: Triatriopollenites lateflexus

Type specimen: Holotype: p.m. 1015; coord. 28.9/96.2. Stored at Museo de La Plata, Paleobotanical division., a microspore (Pollen grain). Its type locality is Cerro Bororó, which is in a Danian terrestrial horizon in the Cerro Bororó Formation of Argentina.
