Type specimen: SMNS 2012, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Randeck Maar (Armbruster collection), which is in a MN 5 crater lake lime mudstone in the Randeck Maar Formation of Germany.

Distribution: found only at Randeck Maar (Armbruster collection)
