Type specimen: IGM 183912, an osteoderm (Numerous isolated dorsal carapace scutes). Its type locality is Duke Locality 70 (La Venta Fauna), which is in a Laventan fluvial sandstone/mudstone in the La Victoria Formation of Colombia.
