Sister taxa: Neoglyptatelus sincelejanus, Neoglyptatelus uruguayensis
Type specimen: IGM 183153, a carapace (partial dorsal carapace and isolated osteoderms). Its type locality is Duke-ING Locality 031 (La Venta Fauna), which is in a Laventan terrestrial horizon in the Villavieja Formation of Colombia.
Ecology: ground dwelling omnivore
Distribution:
