Sister taxa: Eohemithyris alexi, Eohemithyris colurnus, Eohemithyris gettysburgensis, Eohemithyris grayi, Eohemithyris wildei
Type specimen: WAM 96.818, a shell. Its type locality is Gully 500 m northwest of West Tank, Giralia Station, which is in a Maastrichtian carbonate sandstone in the Miria Formation of Australia.
