Sister taxa: Archaeohelorus hoi, Archaeohelorus tensus

Type specimen: CNU-HYM-NN2012052, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Daohugou (CNU 2012 collection), which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian lacustrine - large shale in the Daohugou Formation of China.
