Type specimen: IWCMS 2012.203–204, a skull (posterior and rostral parts respectively of a substantially complete, isolated skull comprising the cranium and mandibles in occlusion with it). Its type locality is Beach northeast of Yaverland coastal car park, which is in a Barremian fluvial siltstone in the Wessex Formation of the United Kingdom.
