Type specimen: YPM 294, a set of postcrania. Its type locality is east side, Cheyenne River, which is in a Campanian marine horizon in the Pierre Shale Formation of South Dakota.
Ecology: aquatic omnivore
Distribution: found only at east side, Cheyenne River
