Sister taxon: Saurichthys (Costasaurichthys) paucitrichus
Type specimen: PIMUZ T1855, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Point 902, Monte San Giorgio, Bed 163, which is in a Fassanian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal dolomite/shale in the Besano Formation of Switzerland.
Ecology: nektonic carnivore
Distribution:
• Triassic of Spain (7 collections), Switzerland (3)
