Sister taxa: Onchocephalus buelnaensis, Onchocephalus dudensis, Onchocephalus maior, Onchocephalus mexicanus, Onchocephalus parvus, Onchocephalus sanwanensis, Onchocephalus thia, Onchocephalus veridicus

Type specimen: USNM 153529, a cephalon/head (cranidium). Its type locality is Pioche Shale, Bed 2, which is in a Dyeran carbonate limestone in the Pioche Shale Formation of Nevada.

Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal carnivore

Distribution:

• Cambrian of United States (2: Nevada collections)

Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
