Type specimen: IVPP V18631, a skeleton (nearly complete and articulated skeleton with feathers preserved on a slab). Its type locality is Xiao-tai-zi, La-ma-dong, Jianchang, which is in an Aptian lacustrine siltstone in the Jiufotang Formation of China.

Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore

Distribution: found only at Xiao-tai-zi, La-ma-dong, Jianchang
