Sister taxa: Pycnophlebia deichmuelleri, Pycnophlebia minor, Pycnophlebia robusta, Pycnophlebia speciosa

Type specimen: Shenyang Institute of Geology and Mineral Resources SG150005, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Xiaonianjiazi, Batuyingzi (Shenyang collection), which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian terrestrial mudstone in the Haifanggou Formation of China.

Ecology: fast-moving ground dwelling herbivore

Distribution: found only at Xiaonianjiazi, Batuyingzi (Shenyang collection)
