Sister taxa: Brachycycloceras bransoni, Brachycycloceras curtum, Brachycycloceras cyclophorum, Brachycycloceras normale, Brachycycloceras rustaqense
Type specimen: USNM 119017, a shell. Its type locality is USGS 1608, Pilot Mountain, which is in a Pendleian marine sandstone in the Fayetteville Formation of Arkansas.
