Sister taxa: Mitorthoceras clinatum, Mitorthoceras crebriliratum, Mitorthoceras girtyi, Mitorthoceras perfilosum
Type specimen: USNM 119054, a shell. Its type locality is USGS 5568 green, Pilot Mountain, which is in a Pendleian marine shale in the Fayetteville Formation of Arkansas.
Ecology: fast-moving nektonic carnivore
