Brachyprion (Brachyprion) ellisensis Dewing 1999 (lamp shell)

Strophomenata - Strophomenida - Leptostrophiidae

Twenhofel (1928) originally named this species Rafinesquina ellisensis, which included specimens from the Ellis Bay and Becscie formations. Dewing recognizes the specimens from these two formations as different and renames them (1999). The specimens from the Becscie Formation are thus renamed here as Brachyprion (Brachyprion) ellisensis.
