Belongs to Grandirhynchia according to D. V. Ager 1956
Sister taxa: Grandirhynchia elii, Grandirhynchia laevigata
Type specimen: G.S. Edin. 2580. Its type locality is Main Mine cutting, Isle of Raasay, which is in a Spinatum marine sandstone in the Scalpa Formation of the United Kingdom.
