Type specimen: USNM Kohls 86908/80698, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Forked Gulch, Old Mountains, locality 40189, which is in a Bridgerian lacustrine - large lime mudstone in the Green River Formation of Colorado.

Ecology: fast-moving ground dwelling grazer-herbivore
