Sister taxa: Sphaeroma gasparellai, Sphaeroma serratus
Type specimen: CSMNF 22004-20. Its type locality is Monte Fallano, which is in a Bajocian/Bathonian marine limestone in the Plattenkalk Formation of Italy.
Ecology: epifaunal omnivore
Distribution: found only at Monte Fallano
