Sister taxon: Lovcenipora musandamensis
Type specimen: BSPG 2011 I 140, 141. Its type locality is Hassan-Abad, Ferdows area, which is in a Rhaetian reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks in the Nayband Formation of Iran.
Ecology: stationary intermediate-level epifaunal suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at Hassan-Abad, Ferdows area
