Sister taxa: Pholiderpeton attheyi, Pholiderpeton scutigerum
Type specimen: MCZ 2772, a mandible. Its type locality is near Point Edward, which is in a Serpukhovian/Bashkirian terrestrial siltstone in the Point Edward Formation of Canada.
Ecology: planktonic suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at near Point Edward
