Type specimen: BES SC 390, a partial skeleton (Disarticulated but associated skeleton). Its type locality is Besano (Scisti bituminosi), which is in an Anisian/Ladinian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal dolomite/shale in the Besano Formation of Italy.
