Sister taxon: Portlandemys mcdowelli

Type specimen: MJSN BSY009-708, a partial skull (partial cranium consisting of the basicranium and the skull roof). Its type locality is Bois de Sylleux, 2009 coll., which is in a Kimmeridgian carbonate marl in the Reuchenette Formation of Switzerland.
