Sister taxon: Rhizophoroxylon blepharistemmoides
Type specimen: Holotype: LP-PB 9069, a wood. Its type locality is Puesto Fernández - NF Angiosperms, which is in a Paleocene terrestrial sandstone in the Cerro Bororó Formation of Argentina.
Ecology: "photoautotroph"
Distribution: there are no occurrences of Rhizophoroxylon spallettii in the database
