Type specimen: AM 5754 (a & b), a skeleton (slightly disrupted whole-bodied specimen preserved in part and counterpart). Its type locality is Waterloo Farm, which is in a Famennian lagoonal shale/sandstone in the Witpoort Formation of South Africa.
Ecology: planktonic suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at Waterloo Farm
