Sister taxon: Mystacina robusta

Type specimen: CM2013.18.381, a tooth (right M1). Its type locality is Site FF1 or HH0, Manuherikia River, H41/f059, which is in an Altonian lacustrine - large claystone in the Bannockburn Formation of New Zealand.

Ecology: volant frugivore-insectivore
