Sister taxa: Croizetoceros pyrenaicus, Croizetoceros ramosus
Type specimen: Faculté des Sciences Lyon 41312, a mandible (left mandible with p3-m3). Its type locality is Batterie du Serrat d'en Vacquer, which is in a Pliocene fluvial siltstone/sandstone in France.
Ecology: ground dwelling grazer-browser
Distribution: found only at Batterie du Serrat d'en Vacquer
