Type specimens:
- Sycosaurus nowaki: BSPG 1936 III 1, a partial skull (Snout tip)
- Leontocephalus intactus: UMZC T878, a skull.
- Lycaenops kingoriensis: GPIT/RE/7116, a skull. Its type locality is Kingori locality, Ruhuhu Basin, which is in a Wuchiapingian terrestrial horizon in the Usili Formation of Tanzania.
Ecology: carnivore
Distribution: found only at Kingori locality, Ruhuhu Basin (Permian of Tanzania)
