Sister taxa: Scarrittia canquelensis, Scarrittia robusta

Type specimen: MPEF-PV 7753, a partial skull (incomplete skull with right I3-C, P2-M2, alveoli of I1-2, C, P1; left P2-4 and alveoli for I1-3, C, P1). Its type locality is La Cantera, which is in a Rupelian terrestrial horizon in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina.

Distribution:

• Deseadan of Argentina (1 collection)

• Oligocene of Argentina (1)
