Sister taxon: Necrolestes patagonensis

Type specimen: MLP 92-X-10-14, a mandible (left mandibular fragment with erupting p?4 replacing dp?4, and the alveoli of the molars). Its type locality is Gran Barranca - southern cliff of lake Colhué Huapí, which is in a Colhuehuapian terrestrial horizon in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina.

Ecology: scansorial insectivore

Distribution: found only at Gran Barranca - southern cliff of lake Colhué Huapí
