Sister taxon: Arctodictis sinclairi

Type specimen: MLP 11-85, a mandible (left mandibular fragment with canine and p1-m4, and part of right ramus with roots of canine and p1-2 and a near-complete p3). Its type locality is Monte León, which is in a Santacrucian terrestrial horizon in the Santa Cruz Formation of Argentina.

Ecology: scansorial carnivore
