Sister taxon: Nyranerpeton montceauense

Type specimen: NHMW-1898/X/21, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Nyrany, which is in a Westphalian D lacustrine coal in the Kladno Formation of the Czech Republic.

Ecology: amphibious carnivore

Distribution: found only at Nyrany
