Sister taxa: Batropetes fritschia, Batropetes niederkirchensis, Batropetes palatinus
Type specimen: MNHM PW 2001/308-LS, a skeleton. Its type locality is Niederhausen/Appel, which is in an Asselian terrestrial horizon in the Meisenheim Formation of Germany.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Niederhausen/Appel
