Type specimen: RC 19, a partial skull. Its type locality is Doornberg, New Bethesda, Daptocephalus Assemblage Zone, which is in a Wuchiapingian/Changhsingian terrestrial siliciclastic in South Africa.

Distribution: found only at Doornberg, New Bethesda, Daptocephalus Assemblage Zone
